DFT / Consultancy

printer friendly versionhome page

Design for Test (DFT) is a key element in the design and manufacturing processes. Get it right, and huge savings can be made. Get it wrong, and significant limitations in test coverage which could result in potentially large unpredicted manufacturing costs.

Applying consistent rules from industry standard testability guidelines at the start of the design process can reduce the costs of structural test and manufacturing overall.

Our team will add value to your design cycle by improving product testability and fault coverage which brings better fault diagnosis and ultimately better yields.

DFT activities are broken down into 3 phases,
1. Data Processing and Preparation,
2. Test Consultancy Workshop,
3. Completion and Issue of Testability Report.

Information required to carry out a DFT analysis is as follows:
Schematics in .pdf form
Bill of Materials
Target configuration of ICT Tester
Any Functional Test Specification (if this exists)
Data sheets for devices not commercially available.
CAD DATA produced by Design CAD system
Bare Board (Optional but preferred)
Loaded Board (Optional but preferred - space model would be acceptable)
